The police department arrested 29-year-old Laura Kaylor, the former executive director of Valley Adult Day Services. According to officers, Kaylor is being accused of embezzlement and of financial elder and dependent abuse, for the daycare’s clientele includes older adults and those with cognitive disabilities.
On May 21, a representative from the Valley Adult Day Services contacted law enforcement regarding funds that were unaccounted for. An investigation began, and after reviewing extensive financial records, police said it was determined that Kaylor had misused funds with which she was entrusted.
According to officers, the embezzlement occurred from 2024 to the beginning of 2025, and the total loss to Valley Adult Services was found to exceed $23,000.
Detectives located Kaylor at a home in Terra Bella on Thursday, and there, police said she was arrested and booked at the Tulare County South County Detention Facility, where she is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
