Throughout the summer, the Clovis Unified School District kept maintenance crews busy, between regular touch-ups and huge construction projects.
“Making sure that classrooms are in good repair, that buildings are freshly painted, that parking lots have fresh coats of asphalt where they’re needed,” District Public Information Officer Kelly Avants said.
Avants said the district is very proud of the new Clovis Online School building and the Terry P. Bradley Educational Center.
Avants said the district is more than ready to welcome kids back into the classroom. She said, teachers spent all week at school getting classrooms and lesson plans ready.
“A lot of our teachers have been going through professional development and making sure that they are up to date with the best practices of instruction and ready to just hit the ground running come the first day of school,” she added.
Avants said the new school year brings the same goals they always have.
“Our goals are really timeless. I will say our goal is always the betterment of our students, the increasing their academic ability, and making sure that they are able to succeed to their individual best,” she said.
She added that they really want parents to get involved this school year and focus on making sure their children come to school each and every day.
“We’re going to deliver on our promise to make sure that every day is valuable and that we have a great experience every day of the year,” she said.
