UL Ragin’ Cajun student athletes engaged with fans at the annual Fan Day event.
The event featured athletes from various sports teams who interacted with fans, showcasing the strong community spirit and support for Cajun athletics.
Cajun Soccer set the tone for the season with a 4-1 victory over Lamar, highlighting the team’s readiness and determination.
“I think that being a part of this team and getting as many fans as possible, it’s a euphoric experience for me personally because I get to support my hometown,” said Raegan Latiolais, a forward for Cajun Soccer.
Rhyan Miciotto, a setter for Cajun Volleyball, expressed her appreciation for the diverse fan support.
“I feel like you don’t realize how many fans there are until you see everyone here and they’re all here to support you.” Miciotto said.
Young fan Annalyse Moore enjoyed the opportunity to interact with the volleyball team, securing signatures on her volleyball as a cherished souvenir.
“It was really neat. I really like watching them play,” Moore said.
The opening of Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium marks a new era for Cajun football, with defensive lineman Maxie Baudoin IV encouraging fans to fill the stadium.
“It’s very important because the new stadium, who don’t want to see the new stadium in the first stadium in 50 years or something like that,” Baudoin emphasized.
Upcoming events include the Cajun Volleyball Red and White game next Saturday, Cajun Soccer’s match against McNeese next Sunday, and Cajun Football’s game against Rice on August 30th.
