SUV crashes into Covington-area restaurant, diners hurt: STPSO

COVINGTON, La. (WGNO) — Several people are injured after an SUV crashed into a Covington-area pizza restaurant on Friday afternoon, Aug. 15.

According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened shortly before 4 p.m. when an older woman, while accompanied by an older man, reportedly drove an Audi SUV into the restaurant, believed to be Isabella’s Pizzeria.

Officials say the building sustained extensive damage and multiple people will hurt. Among them, two adults and an infant were brought to local hospitals for treatment. The older woman and the male passenger weren’t hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.
