A school resource officer (SRO) was patrolling H.H. Poole Middle School around 9:30 a.m. when a student informed him of another student showing others a knife they had brought to school.
Deputies say the SRO made contact with the accused student, who initially denied having a weapon but later confessed to bringing a knife. The SRO searched the student’s laptop bag and found a Bowie knife.
According to deputies, a criminal complaint was filed against the student for weapon possession on school grounds, and the student was transported to a juvenile detention center.
