Man threatened with machete in Anne Arundel County, police say

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A 49-year-old man was threatened by another man with a machete in Anne Arundel County on Thursday night, police detailed.

Anne Arundel County police responded around 8 p.m. to the 800 block of Crain Highway South in Glen Burnie for an assault involving an “edged weapon.”

There, the victim reported that he was in his car when a man threatened him with a machete during a dispute. At one point, the suspect reportedly thrust the machete inside the victim’s vehicle, almost striking him, police said.

Officers found the suspect running on Padfield Avenue, but were not able to find the machete.

Jason Portillo, 29, was arrested in connection with the incident.
