Cotter police join national ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ campaign

The Cotter Police Department is partnering with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” enforcement campaign, running August 15 – September 1.
The high-visibility effort aims to deter impaired driving and prevent crashes during the Labor Day holiday period, which has historically seen a spike in alcohol-related fatalities.

Police urge drivers to plan ahead if they intend to drink, arrange a designated sober driver or use a taxi or rideshare service, and never wait until after drinking to decide how to get home. Friends are encouraged to stop impaired drivers from getting behind the wheel, and anyone spotting a drunk driver should contact the Cotter Police Department.
