Dandre Jadon Stevenson faces one count of child endangerment and one count of negligent firearm storage.

Investigators learned that the boy was at the home having a sleepover with Stevenson, his uncle. Stevenson was playing video games with a friend when his nephew shot himself.
Stevenson’s mother, who owns the home, said Stevenson is the only person in the home who owns a gun. She added that Stevenson admitted to her that the boy had found the gun in his room and shot himself, court documents state.
Investigators found a semi-automatic handgun wrapped in a towel in the basement of the home. A spent shell casing was still in the chamber and there was a loaded magazine.
A trigger mechanism for a firearm was also found in a dresser in Stevenson’s bedroom.
