According to court documents, the West Valley City Police Department (WVCPD) was contacted regarding a woman trespassing in a backyard. When officers arrived at the residence, they allegedly located Barbour-Miller with a pipe in her hand.

When Barbour-Miller realized she was speaking with a police officer, she stated, “Let me set my pipe down,” and put what the officer described as a “bulbous pipe with burnt residue” into her purse. The officer ordered Barbour-Miller to put her hands behind her back and grabbed her arm to begin arresting the woman.

“You’re not gonna f— arrest me, b—,” Barbour-Miller allegedly stated to the officer while pulling her arms away from him. The woman struggled against the officer and struck him in the face with the hand that was holding her cell phone, documents say. Due to this hit, the officer sustained an abrasion under his eye and a laceration on the bridge of his nose.

After hitting the officer in the face, Barbour-Miller grabbed the officer’s CED (often known by its brand name, Taser) and unbuckled the holster, but was unable to pull the CED out. After this, Barbour-Miller was detained and arrested.

According to court documents, after he arrested her, Barbour-Miller reportedly apologized to the officer for hitting his face. She also allegedly admitted several times to assaulting the officer and having a pipe in her possession.

Barbour-Miller was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail, where she is currently being held with bail.
