Airfares to fly out of Abilene continue to stay high; however, the planes flying out of Abilene are still filling up to 88% capacity, according to Abilene Transportation Director Don Green.
Green informed the Abilene Development Board at their regular meeting this week, stating the prices are reflective of the airline not making an effort to sell seats because the seats are selling themselves.
“Their goal is to maximize revenues, as all of our goals are, so that’s how they are doing that. At some point, they’ll find that pain point where people will stop buying, and we are not filling the flight up to 88%,” Green explained.
The 88% capacity is a 1% increase from the previous month.
