Walz authorizes state disaster assistance for counties affected by June storm damage

Walz approves state disaster aid for Minnesota communities hit by severe storms in June

Gov. Tim Walz on Thursday announced he has authorized emergency assistance for northwest and west central Minnesota following the storm damage that occurred earlier this summer.

The funding and assistance will go to Beltrami, Cass, Clearwater, Hubbard, Mahnomen, Norman and Todd counties, as well as the White Earth Band of Chippewa. The aid will help rebuild public infrastructure that had been damaged by the storms on June 21.

Walz had previously issued a peacetime emergency to provide emergency assistance.
