The Texas Education Agency released accountability ratings Friday for all districts and schools across the state.
Abilene ISD overall received a C(75) rating, but five campuses – Bowie Elementary, Clack Middle School, Madison Middle School, Mann STEAM Academy, and Martinez Elementary – received D ratings.
Ortiz Elementary, which was closed by Abilene ISD at the end of the 2024-2025 school year, received an ‘F’ rating from the TEA.
The breakdown for each AISD campus is as follows:
***The symbols compare each rating to the previous school year (2023-2024). ‘++’ means the campus went up an entire letter grade, ‘+’ means the campus went up in numerical score, ‘!!!’ means the campus went down two entire letter grades, ‘!!’ means the campus went down an entire letter grade, and ‘!’ means the campus went down in numerical score.
13 campuses showed improvement over the 2023-2024 school year, and 9 campuses had a decreased performance.
Ratings are issues on criteria such as Student Achievement, School Progress, and Closing the Gaps.

BigCountryHomepage.com will publish a list of ratings from additional school districts across the area soon. Check back for the latest information.
