San Mateo mail thief caught riding stolen e-bike

San Mateo authorities were alerted to the report of mail theft in progress on the 2100 block of Vista Del Mar. 

Arriving officers gathered witness statements and surveillance footage that confirmed the theft. From the information, the police learned that the suspect was seen fleeing on a bicycle eastbound toward Mariners Island Boulevard. 

Officers located and detained a person who matched the suspect’s description, who was later identified as San Mateo resident Christopher Henry. 

Burglary tools, according to police, were found on Henry.  

Henry, 34, was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for suspicion of possession of stolen property, committing mail theft, possession of burglary tools and his two outstanding warrants.

The bike Henry was riding was reportedly an e-bike stolen from San Bruno and was returned to the San Bruno Police Department after his arrest.
