Plainview High cancels classes amid water service disruption

GLENMORA, La. (WNTZ) – Plainview High School was closed Thursday, August 15, after severe overnight storms left the campus without a reliable water supply, according to the Rapides Parish School Board.

Officials said the outage forced the cancellation of classes because the school could not operate safely without running water. No timeline has been given for when service will be restored.

District administrators said they are monitoring the situation and will provide updates to families through the school’s website and the district’s mass notification system.

The school board thanked parents and students for their cooperation and understanding, noting that safety remains the top priority.
