The investigation comes after 17 children and a bus driver were taken to the hospital after their bus rolled over in the Sandy Creek area of Travis County, according to the Texas DPS. Two children had serious injuries, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.
The school bus was coming from Bagdad Elementary School on Leander ISD’s first day of school and was carrying 42 children and one adult.
After the crash, many concerned viewers reached out to KXAN via email and on social media to talk about road safety in the area.
There have been 110 crashes on Nameless Road, according to Texas Department of Transportation data, of which those crashes involved 178 people and 141 vehicles.
