Charleston, WV (WOWK) — It has been a hot start to August, and StormTracker 13 Meteorologists predict that those toasty temperatures will continue into the weekend.
Another heat wave settles in with high temperatures reaching the 90s over the weekend. Accounting for the heat index, it will feel like the mid-90s for a good deal of us. This heat is not strong enough to justify any warnings or advisories, but still remember to stay cool and hydrated.
Saturday’s max heat indices will be further west, with Portsmouth potentially breaking into the triple digits. The hottest time of day is just before sunset.
Sunday is expected to feel a bit hotter due to slightly higher humidity. However, there will be some chances for scattered showers and storms during the afternoon and evening. If you are in one of the spots where the rain pops up, then the heat index will peak below these maxes.
