CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Charlotte Mecklenburg Police need your help to ‘Find a Fugitive,’ a suspect who officers say has been using kids to commit crimes.

According to police reports, the first of three shoplifting cases happened on July 18 when the suspect stole $200 worth of grocery items from the Food Lion on Mt. Holly Huntersville Road in Northwest Charlotte.  The female suspect was caught on surveillance cameras.

In the second theft case, reports show the suspect robbed the Old Navy on Northlake Centre Parkway on August 4.  Officers say the suspect stole $465 worth of kids’ clothing items.

Then, the next day, August 5, police say the suspect shoplifted $264 worth of kids’ clothing items from the same Old Navy Store in Northlake

In two of these cases, surveillance video shows the suspect leaving the store with minors accompanying the suspect.

Detectives say the suspect caught on surveillance has been identified as 54-year-old Latonya Stewart. There are warrants out for her arrest.
