SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — A FedEx driver in Shreveport has been arrested for allegedly stealing items from packages.
The incident happened on Wednesday, August 13, at a strip mall on Youree Drive. When officers arrived at the scene, they were informed about a man wearing a FedEx uniform who was suspected of stealing the items. Officers noticed that several boxes had been cut open and learned that the suspect and FedEx driver, Jalen Page, was seen removing items.
During their investigation, the police also discovered that Page had several thousand dollars’ worth of stolen merchandise in his truck. According to the press release, these items were taken from multiple businesses, including Buckle, Best Buy, Rack Room Shoes, American Eagle, Sports Spectrum, and several other stores.
Page was arrested on three counts of organized retail theft. Detectives with the SPD believe more stolen property is being identified and recovered. It’s estimated that more than $25,000 worth of merchandise has already been recovered.
