Written from press release:
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Friends of Lake Monroe will host its fourth annual Lake Monroe Day celebration on Sunday, Sept. 14, at The Fields Clubhouse, 1333 S. Fenbrook Lane.
The event, scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m., will feature live music from King Bee and the Stingers, appetizers from One World Enterprises, a wine pull, and brief updates on the group’s ongoing work to protect the lake.
Tickets are $30 for members, $35 for non-members, and $220 for a table of eight. They can be purchased online at FriendsOfLakeMonroe.org.
Formed in 2016, Friends of Lake Monroe works to protect and enhance the lake and its watershed through science, advocacy, and public involvement. The lake, a drinking water source for more than 130,000 people since 1967, also contributes more than $40 million annually to the region’s economy through recreational tourism.
Organizers say the event is an opportunity for the community to come together and reaffirm its commitment to protecting the lake for future generations.
