BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The Bloomington Arts Commission (BAC), in partnership with the Bloomington Urban Enterprise Association (BUEA), has opened applications for its 2025 Arts Operations Grants, offering funding to local 501(c)3 arts organizations with a Bloomington-focused mission.
A total of $180,000 is allocated for BAC’s three 2025 grant cycles, funded through the city’s General and Local Income Tax budget lines and BUEA’s annual budget. Eligible nonprofits must have annual operating budgets of $500,000 or less and may request up to $5,000 or five percent of their budget. Grants can be used for operational costs, including overhead, staff salaries, and program expenses.
“The Bloomington Arts Commission is proud to provide funding for our local arts nonprofits, which are key to the vitality of our community,” said Elliot Josephine Leila Reichert, chair of the BAC Grants Committee.
Applications are due by 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at civiform.bloomington.in.gov/programs/art-operations. BAC Commissioners will host office hours during the application period for interested applicants. To schedule an appointment, contact Holly Warren, Assistant Director for the Arts, at holly.warren@bloomington.in.gov or 812-349-3418.
The BAC, established in 1980, works to promote community participation in the arts and develop Bloomington’s artistic resources. The BUEA supports economic and community development in the city’s urban core, contributing millions of dollars in investments over more than 25 years.
