Armed Bank Robbery In Downtown Shreveport Leads To Swift Arrest By Police

On August 13, 2025, just before 4:00 p.m., Shreveport Police officers were dispatched to Home Federal Bank in the 600 block of Market Street following reports of an armed robbery. Witnesses reported that a suspect entered the bank armed with a firearm and demanded money, prompting an urgent police response.

The incident triggered an immediate investigation by the Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit. Detectives worked rapidly to gather surveillance footage, interview witnesses, and track potential leads in the hours after the robbery. The department described the investigation as a coordinated effort between officers on the scene and specialized units.

Thanks to what police are calling “outstanding detective work,” authorities were able to identify a suspect within a short time frame. On August 14, officers took Lebroderick Jones into custody. Jones is now facing one count of armed robbery with a firearm, a serious felony under Louisiana law.

During the execution of a search warrant at Jones’s residence, detectives uncovered crucial evidence allegedly tying him to the crime. Among the items recovered were a firearm believed to have been used in the robbery and cash stained with red dye, consistent with bank security measures. Investigators say this evidence played a key role in solidifying the case against him.

Police have credited both the investigative team and the public for their roles in the quick resolution of the case. “We extend our appreciation to the community for their assistance and to our officers and detectives for their exceptional work,” the Shreveport Police Department said in a statement.

Jones remains in custody as the case moves forward. Authorities have not disclosed whether additional suspects are being sought, but the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with further information is urged to contact Shreveport Police or Crime Stoppers.
