CHICAGO — Authorities say four people are in custody on Friday after an early morning train car burglary on the city’s Southwest Side.

According to Chicago police, the incident unfolded just before 3:30 a.m., along the train tracks in the 5700 block of South Oakley Avenue, in West Englewood.

Police were first called to the scene following a report of a theft from a train car in the area, but when they arrived, officers said a group of offenders fled from the scene on foot.

Officers were able to track down and arrest four people believed to have been involved in the burglary.

Charges against those arrested are currently pending and it is unclear what was stolen from the train car.

Authorities did not identify or provide booking photos for anyone involved.
