Around 4 p.m. on Thursday, the body was found. According to SCSO, the man was identified as 23-year-old Antioch man Nico Cuevas.
Cuevas leaves behind a 2-year-old son Nico Cuevas Jr. A GoFundMe was started to support Cuevas’ family. Cuevas is survived by his parents, brother, two sisters and partner/mother of his child.
“Nico’s greatest joy in life was his 2-year-old son, Nico Jr., who was endlessly in love with his daddy,” the GoFundMe states. “Their bond was pure and unbreakable, and it is heartbreaking to know that such a beautiful connection was cut far too short.”
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, Napa County Sheriff’s Office, San Joaquin Sheriff’s Office, Solano County Parks, Rio Vista Police Department and U.S. Coast Guard assisted in the case.
“We extend our sincere condolences to Nico’s loved ones during this difficult time,” SCSO wrote.
