First, don’t miss the special COOLinary menu at Sala NOLA in Lakeview. All this month, over 100 local restaurants are participating in COOLinary with specially-priced lunches, dinners, and brunches. Sala NOLA is featuring such dishes as their Shrimp Remoulade, grilled pork chop and filet mignon tacos.
Next, Thursday, Aug. 14, the Kimpton Hotel Fontenot is the site of an intense culinary competition. A fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, over 20 of the city’s top chefs will compete in categories like Best Tasty Bite. Guests will also enjoy an open bar and live music.
Friday night, Aug. 15 dance the night away at the ‘80s and ‘90s Flashback Concert at The Metropolitan. It’ll feature stars from the ‘80s and ‘90s such as Kid Frost and 95 South. Spinning the tunes will be DJ Bad Boy Richie Rich, playing hits such as “Together Forever.”
Finally, Blind Melon performs Saturday night, Aug. 16, at the House of Blues. Known for their self-titled album that had such hits as “No Rain,” the band is led by lead singer Shannon Hoon. Grab dinner at the House of Blues restaurant before the show to make it a full night out.
