Updates: (8/14/2025 — 12:36 p.m.) Backup power has been restored. Both employees and patients are being evacuated from parts of the hospital.

(12:38 p.m.) Security has alerted all managers outside the medical office building and Eccles Outpatient Care Center that backup generators are “fluctuating” and both buildings need to be completely shutdown and all appointments canceled.

MURRAY, Utah (ABC4) — Regular and backup power have been lost at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray Thursday.

According to Jess Gomez with Intermountain Health, shortly before noon on Thursday, regular power was lost. A short time after, backup power was also lost.

Gomez says ambulances are on being diverted to other hospitals until power can be restored.

The hospital is working with power companies to fix this issue. ABC4 has a crew on the way to the scene.

The condition of patients requiring power for machinery like ventilators in intensive care units and the emergency room is unclear.
