MURRAY, Utah (ABC4) — A Murray woman has been arrested and charged after the FBI discovered she had created and distributed child sexual abuse material (CSAM) online.

A 31-year-old woman, whom ABC4 is not identifying to protect the identity of the victim, has been charged with one count of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and one count of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, both first-degree felonies.

According to court documents, on Aug. 6, 2025, the FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force (CEHTTF) in Utah was contacted by FBI agents in Florida regarding an account uploading CSAM to an online forum. The Florida FBI Field Office had investigated, and determined that the account owner was posting from somewhere in Utah.

The CEHTTF reviewed the images posted on the account and discovered a photo of a woman who they believed owned the account, later identified as the 31-year-old. She allegedly included a caption that identified herself as a pedophile.

Using that photo and other information from the account, law enforcement determined that the account belonged to the 31-year-old woman, who lived in Murray. They tracked down her address and served a search warrant on Aug. 8, two days after the initial tip from the Florida FBI.

Law enforcement took the woman’s electronic devices and cell phone. She was detained, and the CEHTTF conducted an interview with her. The 31-year-old allegedly admitted that she did download and post CSAM on her account.

During the interview, the woman also admitted that she had sexually abused a minor child that she knew and had access to, who was under 14. According to documents, the 31-year-old recorded the sexual abuse and claimed that she had uploaded that video around 200 times, posting it or sending it to other users.

Law enforcement made contact with the minor victim, who confirmed that they had been sexually abused by the 31-year-old woman.

The woman was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail, where she is currently being held on a no-bail warrant due to her risk to the victim and other children.

Charges are allegations only. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
