NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man accused of a double fatal shooting has agreed to plead guilty to manslaughter Thursday, Aug. 14.

According to the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office, in April Jared Pawlus killed his two roommates and got into a standoff with the New Orleans Police Department in the French Quarter. At the arraignment, District Attorney Jason Williams said his office reached a plea deal with Pawlus.

“We were able to bring this to a resolution and spare this wonderful family years of retraumatization that a lengthy trial would have certainly brought,” Williams said.
