IMPD: Man dead after hit-and-run on Indy’s southwest side
INDIANAPOLIS — A homicide investigation is underway after a hit-and-run left a person dead on Indy’s southwest side on Thursday.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded around 11:09 a.m. to the area of Denison Street and W. Troy Avenue in response to a reported personal injury accident.

IMPD said officers arrived on the scene and determined that a vehicle had struck an adult male. The victim was initially listed in critical condition after being transported to an area hospital. IMPD confirmed in an update around 2 p.m. that the victim had died and that detectives are investigating the case as a homicide.

The driver reportedly fled the area as detectives believe the suspect fled on foot. The incident remains under active investigation.
