Former Canton Police Chief Vickie McNeil dies

CANTON, Miss. (WJTV) – Former Canton Police Chief Vickie McNeil has died. She was 75.

According to her obituary, McNeil died on August 10, 2025. Her cause of death is unknown.

McNeil served as the Chief of Police for the Canton Police Department from 2009 to 2013. She also served as the assistant chief, as well as the Canton alderwoman for Ward 5.

McNeil is survived by her two children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Mt. Hope M.B. Church in Canton from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Her funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
