Carolina Hurricanes owner buying Portland Trail Blazers for $4 billion

RALEIGH, N.C. (WGHP) — Thomas Dundon, the owner of the Carolina Hurricanes, has reached an agreement to purchase the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers for more than $4 billion, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

ESPN reports that Dundon intends to keep the team based in Portland, Oregon.

Dundon bought the Hurricanes in 2017, inheriting a team that had failed to make the playoffs for nearly a decade prior. The Hurricanes have since made the playoffs every year under Dundon’s ownership.
