United Way’s Blue Jean Ball returns Sept. 18 with live music, BBQ, and fundraising for local families

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The United Way of South Central Indiana will host its 3rd Annual Blue Jean Ball on Thursday, Sept. 18, bringing together live country music, food, and community fundraising at Whippoorwill Hill.

The event runs from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and will feature Nashville recording artist Jennifer Mlott, known for her heartfelt lyrics and down-home charm. Guests can enjoy dinner from Great White Smoke BBQ, a Bruster’s Ice Cream sundae bar, drinks from Upland Brewing Co., a silent auction, and a new raffle.

Tickets are $55 and include dinner, dessert, and the concert. Attendees can choose between pulled pork, pulled chicken, or a black bean burger, with sides and all the fixings. The silent auction, raffle, and cash bar open at 5 p.m., dinner is served at 5:30 p.m., and Mlott’s performance runs from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. The first raffle drawing will be at 6:30 p.m., with the silent auction closing at 7:30 p.m.

Proceeds benefit United Way programs that provide immediate needs like food, shelter, and healthcare, while also supporting long-term financial stability, youth opportunities, and community resiliency. According to the organization, nearly half of families in south central Indiana work hard but still struggle to make ends meet.

Tickets are available through Aug. 28 at unitedwaysci.org/BlueJeanBall and will not be sold at the door.
