The transit agency has arranged surface buses to provide service from West Portal to Caltrain. BART along the Market Street corridor is still providing regular service and will honor Muni transfers, SFMTA said.
According to SFMTA, the system issue was preventing subway service and the agency did not have signals or control over track switches.
As of about 8:40 a.m., SFMTA said subway service along Market was beginning to move again. However, the system is still rebooting and service will be “very slow” in both directions. SFMTA still recommends shuttle buses and BART as an alternative.
