Representative Jason Nazarenko announces re-election campaign for AR State House District 4

Jason Nazarenko is currently serving his first term in the Arkansas House of Representatives and has announced he will seek re-election for District 4 which includes portions of Marion and Baxter Counties.
Jason’s accomplishments in the 2025 Regular Session of the Arkansas General Assembly include the passage of each piece of legislation he sponsored. The bills – now laws – that Jason ran protect Arkansans’ jobs, ensure our state is competitive, support the children of fallen service members and first responders, recognize our National Guardsmen for deployments out of the state and country, and aid those with mental illnesses.

KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News spoke with Representative Nazarenko to discuss his thoughts about the current 95th General Assembly and what he has achieved as well as looking to further serve the district in the future.

Nazarenko was asked what initiative or action during his first term he was most proud of.

When asked what decision stands out as being the hardest, and out of many examples Nazarenko details one specifically.

On the subject of the new state prison, Nazarenko was asked directly where he stood on building the new prison in Franklin County. He gave credit to that being a good question knowing it will be a “hot topic” during the next session. Nazarenko stated, “we definitely, as a state, have an issue with our penal system.” He continues, “we’ve got a problem even bigger than just a prison is going to solve.”

The question was asked if he thought he could support those funds being redirected to Calico Rock’s prison for a prison expansion as opposed to a brand new facility.
