Pedestrian hit and killed in south Charlotte crash, CMPD says
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 45-year-old man was killed while walking across the street in south Charlotte late Tuesday night, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Around 10:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of a pedestrian crash on the 11600 block of N. Community House Road. When they arrived, they found the pedestrian, identified as 45-year-old Vidal Zinczuk Jr., with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead at the scene by Medic, officials said.

Also at the scene was a Chevrolet Express van with damage to the front-end near Zinczuk.

Investigators believe the driver of the Chevrolet was going north on N. Community House Road when they hit Zinczuk walking across the street. The driver was not injured.

Police did not say if any charges will be filed in this case.
