An Edina man has died after cliff jumping at Tettegouche State Park on Monday afternoon.
At about 11:34 a.m., the Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call saying a man had jumped off the High Falls in Tettegouche State Park and didn’t resurface.
On scene, the Minnesota DNR deployed an underwater vehicle and at 1:46 p.m., found a 54-year-old man at the base of the falls.
The victim was identified as Gregory Corniea from Edina, according to the sheriff’s office.
Authorities learned that Corniea was visiting the area with his family and jumped from the top of the falls on the Baptism River. The sheriff’s office said it appears he hit his head on the rocks near the base of the falls while going into the water.
A GoFundMe for Corniea’s family can be found HERE.
