According to officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to the center, located at 201 E. Washington St., at around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
When officers arrived, they found an adult man “with injuries consistent with trauma” and he was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. The public police report stated that a black pocket knife was collected as evidence at the scene.
A suspect, identified in the public police report as a 34-year-old man, was “quickly detained” and arrested on preliminary charges of aggravated battery with a substantial risk of death, a Level 3 felony.
IMPD said the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will ultimately make the final charging decisions.
