According to the Marion Police Department, officers were called to Greentree apartments after receiving multiple calls about a shooting. Officers arriving on scene found two males suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
One of the males was airlifted to Indianapolis in critical condition while the second male’s injuries were described as “non-life-threatening.”
Police later learned a third shooting victim arrived at the hospital. This person was also shot multiple times and is said to be in critical condition.
A search of the apartment where the shooting allegedly unfolded uncovered multiple “AR-15” rifles, according to police. A handgun was also found in the vehicle that the third shooting victim drove to the hospital.
Police said a 7-year-old child was inside the apartment when the bullets started to fly. Fortunately, the child was unharmed.
An innocent neighbor, however, was struck by the gunfire after a bullet punched through the wall and a couch and struck the innocent bystander in the back. Fortunately, the bullet did not penetrate the victim’s skin.
Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident. At this time, no arrests have been announced.
