Man missing for over a week last seen on North Side

CHICAGO (WGN) — Authorities in Chicago are asking the public for information amid the search for a man who has been missing for over a week.

Chicago police say 63-year-old Carl Aikens has been missing since Saturday, Aug. 2.

According to police, Aikens was last seen in the 6100 block of North Sheridan Road, in Edgewater, on the city’s North Side.

Officers said the missing man, who stands 5-foot-11 and weighs around 175 pounds, has brown eyes and black hair.

Aikens was last spotted wearing orange and white checkered shorts, white gym shoes, a beige T-shirt and a white hat.

A photo provided by Chicago police shows Aikens with light facial hair; however, it is unclear if he had any at the time of his disappearance.

Police offered details about the man’s disappearance in a news release shared on Sunday afternoon.
