According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened shortly before 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, on Schuster Road near Taylor Hollow Road.
Troopers say a pickup truck was traveling west on Schuster Road when it went off the right side of the road and overcorrected. According to OSHP, the vehicle then went off the left side of the road, where it hit a ditch and a fence before overturning.
OSHP says the driver, identified as John Short, 54, of Piketon, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
The Seal Township Fire Department, Portsmouth Ambulance and Pike County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the call.
