Starting on Aug. 18, the City of Topeka will begin work on a road construction project for Northwest 17th Street in front of the Sunflower Sports Association. The project will take drivers around the PTMW Inc. factory and past the Goodyear Plant.
The City will be working on asphalt overlay with some depth patching and end milling to fix failing concrete panels. The project will see Northwest 17th Street closed but a detour will take drivers along Vail Avenue, Northwest 25th Street and Menoken Road.
The City says the work is expected to take three weeks.
