Suspect in custody after fatal Oakland shooting

(KRON) – A person is in custody after a deadly shooting in Oakland on Saturday, according to authorities. 

Oakland Police Department officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 500 block of Aileen Street at around 2 p.m., where officers found a victim suffering from gunshot wound(s). Paramedics were summoned and pronounced the victim deceased.

The victim’s identity will be withheld until the next of kin is notified.  

Police said a person was taken into custody in relation to the shooting. 

Anyone with information regarding this ongoing investigation is asked to contact OPD’s Homicide Section at 510-238-3821 or the department’s tip line at 510-238-7950. Police also request that anyone who has photos or videos that will assist with the investigation send them to cidvideos@oaklandca.gov.
