According to court documents, St. George Police initiated a traffic stop on a U-Haul traveling northbound on Interstate 15 around 12:45 a.m. after it had failed to move over while passing a prior traffic stop.
The responding officer detected the odor of marijuana from the vehicle. On a search of the vehicle, police found the marijuana, along with meth and 50 forged identification documents. The marijuana and meth were found within reach of the driver and passenger of the truck.
The 50 forged identification cards were found in the cargo area of the vehicle. Court documents did not state which jurisdictions the cards were located. Both the driver and passenger admitted to loading the vehicle and were booked into the Purgatory Correctional Facility.
Police say the passenger’s true identity is unknown to the amount of fake identification cards, so he was booked into jail under the name Francisco Armando Alfaro Villegas, 30. He faces the following charges:
- 51 counts of Producing or Transferring False Identification, a second-degree felony
- One count of Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule I/II/Analog, a Class A Misdemeanor
- One count of Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana/Spice, a Class B Misdemeanor
