As of 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, the northbound lanes of I-680 in Fremont have reopened. FPD said Caltrans “successfully completed operations at the Northbound I-680/Mission San Jose Separation Overpass in the City of Fremont.”
Lanes were opened more than 15 hours ahead of schedule, FPD said. Closures were initially planned to reopen on Monday at 5 a.m.
I-680 at the Mission San Jose overpass on SR-238 has reopened, FPD said. The closures were due to Caltans’ “bridge rehabilitation project.”
“Full Closures of I-680 at the Mission San Jose Overpass (SR-238) are now complete,” Fremont police wrote on social media. “Caltrans thanks the public, stakeholders and contractors for participating in improving California’s transportation networks.”
