Gun Fire scorches a dozen acres near Millerton Lake

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A wildland fire was extinguished after flames ignited near Millerton Lake Sunday morning.

Firefighters reported the “Gun Fire” ignited just after 11 a.m. in the Friant area, near Sky Harbor and Millerton roads.

Crews say the fire initially burned eight acres with a potential to reach 50; however, crews have since been able to prevent the fire from spreading further.

Overall, Cal Fire reported the Gun Fire reached 12 acres and is actively investigating the cause.
