MANASSAS, Va. (DC News Now) — At least five people are displaced after a Saturday night townhouse fire in Manassas, according to the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue.

Firefighters say crews received multiple reports of a house fire in the 9000 block of Whitemoss Drive, where heavy flames were visible coming from the back of the house.

All occupants safely escaped, and one person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, according to firefighters.

The townhouse and the adjoining home sustained extensive damage, and both were deemed unsafe to occupy by the Fire Marshal’s Office. No other units were damaged in the fire.

Firefighters say the five people who are displaced are being assisted by the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
