JACKSON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Investigators continue to race against the clock as the search for 10-year-old Jayden Spicer continues.

It’s believed Jayden disappeared overnight or in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Aug. 6, wearing blue “Sonic the Hedgehog” pajamas.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Matt Gayheart told FOX 56 that they’re still in a similar position to when they began the search.

“Unfortunately, we’ve not been able to locate a lot of evidence suggesting that he would be close by. So unfortunately, we’re kind of at the same spot we were when we started the search,” Gayheart said. “We must continue hope, but unfortunately, at this point, where we’re at in the investigation, it’s a race against the clock. We’re essentially at kind of our last leg. We need to locate him immediately.”

Authorities have since “broadened” the search for Jayden after exhausting all resources in the immediate area, combing over around twenty square miles.

Jeff Turner lives in Jackson, and on Sunday, Aug. 10, he offered $500 for anyone who could bring Jayden home.

“This is absolutely breaking my heart,” Turner said. “We all know there’s so much that we don’t know. I just want this baby found.”

He wasn’t alone, and the comments were filled with nearly 100 people offering to contribute.

Turner, with the help of Jayden’s aunt, Samantha Brunty, created a GoFundMe to raise money for a reward.

“Our hearts are breaking and need our little Jayden home, this GoFundMe is for a cash award for anyone that can produce any whereabouts of Jayden Spicer to close this case,” she wrote. “To collect the reward, the person has to close the case and bring Jayden home.”

The community has raised nearly $2,000 since it was created on Monday morning.

“My honest opinion is something’s happened to that child. And that’s broken my heart because somebody would have found something by now. I’m praying for the Lord to show us, you know, he’s okay or to find him, but then my mind is like, this is a recovery,” Rosa McIntosh told FOX 56 on Friday.
