Roadway back open at South Congress and E. Ben White Blvd. after police activity

AUSTIN (KXAN) — All lanes are back open at South Congress and East Ben White Boulevard after police activity in the area, according to the Austin Police Department.

APD said on social media shortly after 1 p.m. the “ongoing incident” caused a traffic diversion onto the frontage roads in the area.

The Texas Department of Transportation also said on social media said that all eastbound and westbound lanes were previously closed at U.S. 290 at South Congress.

Shortly before 5 p.m., APD said on social media the roadway was back open.
