Man arrested for Highland Ave. arson, stolen firearm

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Shreveport police arrested a man suspected of arson in Highland.

Police say the fire happened in the early morning hours of August 3, 2025, at 2512 Highland Avenue. When members of the Shreveport Fire Department arrived just after 1 a.m., they found a home fully engulfed in flames.

Emerson was detained on the scene, and a joint investigation between SFD and SPD determined that he set the fire intentionally. Police also found that he had a stolen firearm at the time of his arrest.

He was booked into Shreveport City Jail on one count of aggravated arson and one count of possession of a stolen firearm.
