Flames destroy Pattersonville home overnight

PATTERSONVILLE – Flames destroyed a home in the Ringtown Valley early Saturday morning.

Crews from multiple counties responded to a house fire at 322 Pattersonville Road in Union Township around 2am.

A smoke column could be seen in the moonlit sky several miles away.

Flames could be seen coming from the home on the Babarsky property.

Tankers from across Schuylkill and Columbia counties were called to assist and provide a water supply.

Assisting Ringtown Valley firefighters were crews from Shenandoah, Mahanoy City, Frackville, Girardville, Sheppton-Oneida, Nuremberg-Weston, Ryan Township, Beaver Township, Numidia, Gordon, Lavelle, Hometown, and more.

Shenandoah and Frackville EMS also assisted.

Crews remained on scene as of 3:30am. No injuries were immediately reported, and it is not yet known how many people were displaced or what caused the fire.
