Columbus officials arrest one man on multiple drug and firearm charges after investigation
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) – The Columbus Police Department have arrested a man on multiple drug and firearm-related charges after a months-long joint investigation.

CPD’s Special Operations Unit and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives have been teaming up on this investigation which resulted in the arrest of 34-year-old Joshua Alexander.

Alexander was arrested after investigators executed a search warrant on Thursday and seized 3,428.2 grams of methamphetamine, 23.3 grams of cocaine, $2,4500 in U.S. currency, and a 9mm firearm.

Following the search and seizure, Alexander was arrested and charged with:

  • Trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute
  • Possession of a firearm during commission of a crime
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Criminal use of an article with altered ID (firearm)
  • Possession of drug related objects
  • Obstruction (misdemeanor)

Alexander is scheduled to appear in Recorder’s Court for a preliminary hearing on Monday, Aug. 11, at 1:30 p.m.
